Grayden started cereal a couple weeks ago and I just had to post these cute pictures of the first time in his new highchair and his first attempt at eating rice cereal...they are just too cute!

as you can see he just wasn't so sure about it at first, but now he is doing great and its been so much fun to move onto this next step!

And just one more picture to share!
This is from our recent trip to Detroit. We went there for a couple days last week with my parents for Robb and my dad to attend some conferences and meetings there.
Here are my boys before their "Young Executive Training" Class!

our 2nd camping trip and my b-day

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Last weekend our family left for Silver Lake to go camping again. Our friends Jason and Jessica and their daughter Emma were there camping with us. We left Thursday evening once Robb got home from work. Once we got there we set everything up and had a bon-fire like we did everynight.
Friday (my 24th birthday!) we headed to the sand dunes and spent an hour riding around and playing in the sand
UNTIL
Robb's Jeep suddenly wouldn't start up....so the rest of that day and most of the evening was spent trying to repair whatever it was that was wrong with it! After several hours the boys took a break and we headed out for my birthday dinner! Once we got back , it was back to working in the Jeep, in the dark (they used rope lights from the camper as lighting!)
Here are the "shade tree mechanics" as Robb called themselves:
I guess that means hillbilly?!? loland to all our surprise..it started up just as I was about to beg them to give up! We celebrated by walking to go get ice cream! Yeah!

**Despite the unfortunate fate of the Jeep and the day's alternate plans, I had a GREAT birthday, in fact it was the best one yet. I got to spend the whole day (starting at 5 am when Grayden woke up for the day, yikes!!) with my husband and baby boy, both whom I love so so much and thank God for EVERY day! I have been so blessed this year! **

Saturday we crossed our fingers and took the new and improved Jeep back out in the dunes for a while, and it went great, phew!

Jason's Jeep on the other hand, didn't fair so well this time, what are the chances?! Other friends of ours had also come up for the day to spend some time in the dunes and relax around the campground. The best part of that day was when Jessica surprised me with birthday cake AND ice cream!

We had a great time!

Grayden Robert, you are 4 months old

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Grayden you are 4 months old!! I can not believe how much you have stolen my heart these past few months. I love you more each and every day!
To celebrate we spent some time camping at Silver Lake and riding daddy's jeep in the dunes!

Here's what you've been up too:

You can hold up your own bottle, you dont really raise it up or lower it but you do hold it in place and move your mouth to get it! Such a big help, expecially when we are on the road. But I still love to hold you when I feed you when we are home!

You have been so busy! You actually play with your toys now which is so fun to watch.

You went to your first Major League baseball game! Go Tigers!!

You went on your first out of state trip and stayed in a hotel for the first time when we went to Indiana over Labor Day weeekend! You did so good!

You went peach picking and feel asleep in mommy's front pack. You met your great-great grandma on her 98th birthday!

You went to your first tractor pull at the Hudsonville fair and slept through the majority of it!

You learned to roll over, front to back one day and back to front the very next day!!

You are no longer swaddled at night!

You're hands or other toy are in your mouth all.the.time

You were been busy helping daddy and Grandpa fix daddy's Jeep so it could be ready for the dunes!
You have developed a slight case of seperation anxiety from your momma and cry when you can't see me...but I don't mind...it makes me feel loved!

You are giggling more and more and its the sweetest sound ever!

You are jabbering more

You also found that your feet are very fun toys!

You are eating 25-30 oz a day.

You wear size 1-2 diapers

Your clothes are mostly 3 months and 3-6 months but you still fit in a few 0-3 and we even have you drowning in a few 6 months summery outfits that we want you to be able to wear at least once before the cooler weather comes!

You are practicing sitting up and surprised us all that you can actually hold yourself up for a few seconds.

You weigh 15 lbs 8 oz and in the 50th %ile and are 25 inches long and in the 50th %ile.

You no longer like to be held like a baby but instead like to look out and see everything.! You are a big boy now!!

Labor Day Weekend!

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

We started off our long weekend on Friday night by taking our church's middle schooler's on a "Mystery Tour" to kick off the start of youth group! We went pool hopping and then came to our house for a giant slip and slide, pizza, games and we also watched the movie "Horton Hears a Who" (which is a really cute movie by the way) projected against the side of the barn! It was so much fun! And I think the kids had fun too!
On Saturday we went to my parents cottage and spent some time tubing and boating with some friends!
Sunday we headed to Shipshewana, Indiana with my whole extended family. We went swimming and spent some time relaxing in the hotel. It was Grayden's first time staying in a hotel and he did excellent!

Monday we went to the flea market and searched for treasures!
Here are some pictures of our weekend:
