"And Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18:5
We're Adopting!!!
Robb and I started the domestic adoption process back in August and we are coming very close to being finished with our home study, the last part of the process! We are very excited to be finally sharing this with you!!
For privacy reasons and also due to the amount of identifying information available on this blog, this topic will not be discussed on this blog much; but rather another blog I started to document the process. It is a private blog and I do have some more invites available if you are interested you can email me. Once we have a placement and the adoption is final I will open it up to everyone!
In the meantime, we really value your prayers and support. This could be a long journey and we are struggling to be patient.

Congratulations Katie and Robb, that is really wonderful news! I will be praying for your patience, as I struggle with that constantly waiting and waiting for a baby as well. I would love to continue to read about your journey in the adoption process (it is something I am very open to too in the future!) if there is room for me that is :)

I have been following your blog for several months now and wanted to congratulate you on this big event! My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years and have been trying for over 4. In October, we began the adoption process. I am so excited for Christmas when we plan to tell our families. We haven't started the home study yet, we just finally got all our paperwork and everything gathered together and are waiting to hear back from our social worker. I would love to hear more of your story! Good luck!

Yay! Yay! Yay! And another YAY! I cannot express my joy for you two in words. Just know that I am as happy for you as you are for you! I have read your entire blog and you are amazing. I cannot believe what you have been through, and I am so pleased that God has blessed you with this opportunity. I am glad that instead of playing the waiting and guessing game of pregnancy, you jumped right into adoption! Most people wait years. It is so awesome to know that some little boy or girl out there without a family will soon have two parents that are gracious, loving and wonderful!

You first child IS beautiful and is looking after you as an angel of God.

I better stop before this gets too long. I am just so happy and it is coming out as word vomit. (lovely image, I know)

Much love and prayer,

Melanie of MD

P.S. No two people deserve this more than you!

Katie & Robb:
Very happy for your news! As you have been in the adoption process, you have already been waiting. And, there will be more waiting. But, you both know of that God's timing is perfect! May you continue to grow in faith, hope and love that God has given you. Your desire to do God's will, in His time, for your lives is very evident in both of you--even to those of us who don't know you. Thank-you for writing and updating the blog--hearts are truly blessed. Many prayers are lifted up for you guys--and they won't stop.
If you have more invites, and would welcome an "unknown" reader, please put us down:

Katie and Robb,

I'm so happy for you to hear that you're in the adoption process! My birth mother was only 16 when she had me, and knew that she wouldn't be able to give me the life that I deserved. She put me up for adoption right after my birth. I was adopted by my current parents when I was only 6 weeks old. I am so glad that I was given such awesome parents. Yes, at times, I've thought about finding my birth mother, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to totally go through with the process. So for now, I'll just sit back and enjoy what I have. I'm sure eventually one day I'll look for my birth mom, or to see if I have any brothers or sisters.

That being said, I'd love to be able to share in your journey if you have an extra invite. My email address is
mommy.2alexis@yahoo.com

Thank you so much!

Katie,

I have been so blessed in so many ways reading your blog and walking through your journey with you and Robb not only in prayer but saddness, hope and now joy!! My husband and I adopted our daughter 31/2 years ago domestically through Adoption Associates. We also have a bioligical son and weren't able to have another child of our own and truly felt God pulling us into the direction of Adoption it was the most AMAZING experience we ever went through (next to giving birth to our son). I never felt God's presence more than ever during that time in our life. God is so Good and Faithful (you know that first hand). I would love to offer any advise or answer and questions you might have. My prayers are with you and Robb each and everyday! Believe me there is no difference in the love that I have for either of my children...I love them both so much and Thank God for blessing us with 2 beautiful children. May your Adoption Journey be a true blessing! I know you don't know me at all, but I would love to follow your story and pray for you along the way. Many Blessings ~

I just found your blog tonight after being directed to Dylan's blog. I would LOVE to follow your adoption journey. We began the journey of international adoption last June. We were SHOCKED to fall pregnant in February. Unfortunately, our son died and was born in May, at 18+ weeks. Our Christmas was bittersweet as we expected to have 2 babies this Christmas. Instead, Ethan spent his Christmas with Jesus and Jacob is still in an orphanage in Vietnam.
