Lubbers Family Party

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

We wrapped up the last of our Christmas parties for 2014 on Sunday night with Robb's side of the family.

We had a yummy meal and played a game with riddles where you win candy bars, does it get much better than that?!!

Jovie got a Minnie mouse ride on train, a doll house with all the accessories, a ball popper push toy and an adorable apron made my grandma!

The boys got new pjs, super hero recordable books read by Grandpa and Grandma, legos, zoob's and a lego table!

*thanks for bearing with me with all these Christmas party posts, but I love having these posts to look back on! That's a wrap!*

Rietman Family Party

We celebrated with my immediate side of the family Saturday night, we started out with dinner at Kobe grill, we all love hibachi (except maybe Makenna, poor girl was not a fan of the chef teasing her :)

me and my sisters

then we went back to my parents house for presents

I'm pretty impressed with this picture with 6 kids under 6!

The boys got lots of great gifts, Magna-Tiles, MobiGos, Planes toys, Planes movie, coloring book and Rocky figurine from Paw Patrol.
Jovie got the Klip Klop Stable, a picnic basket toy, a monogrammed 31 cinch sac, play food, play pots and pans, a baby doll and a phone!

My parents put together a penny auction for the adults which was so fun. Thanks Heather for the idea! Everyone got 50 pennies and items (anything from a box of klennex to a Target gift card) were auctioned off, but we didn't know how many items there were or what they were. It was super fun!

And the kids played Bingo

Extended family Christmas parties

Monday, December 29, 2014

Last Friday night (the 19th) we celebrated with the extended Lubbers side at The Hall. We had pizza, which was so nice to not have to worry about making anything to take to the party after a busy week, and played some fun games! The kids opened a small gift and loved all the room to play and run around!

Saturday (the 20th) we got together at noon with the Brink side again at the Hall, we played more games and enjoyed a scrumptious lunch.

Christmas Day

Saturday, December 27, 2014

When the kids woke up on Christmas Day we let them open their stockings wearing their new robes, a new tradition for us. We haven't done stockings since Grayden was a baby but this year I decided to bring them back! It was really fun picking things out for them and they really liked it to!

A family picture before church.
Told ya you'd see the thumbs up again :)

after church we headed to my dad's extended family party.

We had no plans in the evening so after naps we headed to my parent's house for a low key relaxing night.

Christmas Eve

Friday, December 26, 2014

Per tradition, we had our little family party on Christmas Eve. We all helped make our meal, taco pie with all the fixins' and goat cheese salad….random but some of our favorites!

after we ate we read the Christmas story from the kids' storybook Bible and headed downstairs.

That's not the last of Grayden's thumbs up you'll see…more to come :)
After a family self timer picture we were ready to open presents.

Like we've done the past several years each child gets 3 presents and Christmas pjs (or in this case a robe, last year was slippers)

Gray got a new robe, Wild Kratt toy, a crazy bounce gift card (his favorite gift) and a drawing how to book

Sadler got a robe, a Paw Patrol toy, the Buzz Saw PlayDoh toy (his favorite gift) and a crazy bounce gift card

Jovie got a mini Minnie backpack, a purse, shoes and a new robe.

The boys each made us an ornament in school..so cute!

Live Nativity at the Critter Barn

Thursday, December 25, 2014

Saturday evening we took a visit to "Bethlehem" to see the live nativity at the Critter Barn!
They do such a great job of telling the Christmas story and making you feel like you were there on the night of Jesus' birth.
It always gets me in the Spirit of Christmas and I love to see the boys' reaction.

Friday night I went out with my friend Trisha, we enjoyed dinner, downtown shopping and some hot drinks together! It was a perfect night!

Such a great night celebrating our little one year old!

there's been a lot of sickness floating around in Grayden's school. I've been generously applying essential oils to boost the kids' immunity. Praying we all stay healthy!

pink, polka dots, tutus and Christmas, does it get more adorable?

Picking out a book from Mrs. Walters at his Happy Birthday Jesus party at school on Wednesday!

He has always been my little medical advocate, making sure I'm always taken care of!

how cute is this little nativity set Grayden made at school?

little cutie

this morning I was talking to Sadler about the Christmas story while he played with the interactive nativity set and I asked him "Sadler, what did the angel say to Mary?" He said "to cut his hair!" so cute, not the right Bible story but adorable anyways!

She and Sadler had lots of fun by grandma's house while I helped in Grayden's class during their Christmas party.
