Grayden Robert, you are 12 months old!

Friday, May 14, 2010

Grayden, you turned 12 months old on Wednesday!

This is what we did to celebrate your 1st birthday!

Here's what you're up to lately:
You started walking shortly after you turned 11 months and have been non stop since!

You eat everything..I can barely keep up with you, the only thing you've tried and haven't liked is cheese. You started on whole milk and have done great!
You've become a pro at blowing kisses, giving high fives, peek a boo, and 'washing your hands' (rubbing them together when we ask you to wash your hands, so cute!)

We think you weigh about 21.5 lbs
You sleep great and usually only take 1 nap now.
You wear 6-12 month clothes, size 3 diapers and size 4 shoes.
You have 5 teeth now, 2 on the bottom and 3 on top.
You can say 'mom'! Its really funny to hear you yell 'MOM' instead of mama or mommy or something else more babyish, but you just say mom, like your a teenager or something! You also say "hi" and wave!
Grayden,
How can I ever express in words the joy you've brought to our lives over the last year? You bring a smile to my face every morning when I walk into your room and see you hopping up and down in your crib waiting for me to pick you up with a big grin peeking at me from behind your pacifier!
And you bring tears of joy to my eyes each night when I lean over your crib to rub your sweet, sleepy head as I watch you sleep. You are the happiest little boy ever and make the world smile! Everywhere we go we get compliments on how happy you are! You love people and wave to anybody who crosses your path. Your smile lights up the room!
I love being your mommy and can't wait to see what the coming years will bring! I pray that your loving, outgoing personality will bring God glory, I know He will use you in great ways Grayden. You are a special boy, God has great things planned for you!
We love you SO much!

Here's what you've been up to:

~First of all we have some very exciting news! You said your first word last Monday and to my delight it was "mom-mom." Melts my heart! Then on thursady to even things out you started to say "dada"! So sweet!
~You have the most expressive little faces, you brought back your famous scowl that you had as a newborn. We love your big smiles and wide eyes the most!
~You play peek-a-boo all day long by hiding behing couches and chairs and popping backout! Funny boy!
~If you hear the word 'clap' even if its in the middle of a sentance you start to clap, you pick up on everything, I am amazed at your knowledge, your going to be smarter than me in no-time.
~You eat and eat and eat and eat. I don't think you ever get full. Last weekend we ate at Logans with G & G R. and you ate half a roll, carrot puree, rice, sweet potatoes, and cinnimon apples. WOW!

~We're slowly trying to wean you from your bottle but you LOVE it, so it might be awhile til you give those up!
~You sleep between 10-11 hours at night and take 2 naps most days.

~Your clothes range all over the place right now, you have some 6 months shirt and a couple of your jeans are 12-18 months.

~You wear size 3 diapers.

~You have 2 teeth.

Grayden Robert, you are 10 months old!

Friday, March 19, 2010

Grayden, you turned 10 months old last week!

We celebrated in Florida by taking you to the children's museum!
Here's what you've been up to:
You are having 4 bottles a day (we finally cut out your early morning bottle!)

You love to eat and notice every time I eat I open the kitchen cupboards! I can't sneak anything by you! Some of your favorite foods are french toast, pears, squash, apples, yogurt, turkey and sweet potato. Your favorite snacks are goldfish crackers, graham crackers, rice cakes and fruit bars. You feed yourself so well with only your two little teeth you can bite and chew with them really well!

You wear size 3 diapers and 6-9 months clothes.

We're surprised you're not walking yet compared to how quickly you've reached all other milestones but you really have no interest in it yet and that is great! We're glad your taking your time with this milestone! I'm not ready to call you a toddler yet, you're still a baby to me :)

You are such a silly boy, full of personality! So many people notice your silly facial expressions and expressive eyes!

When we sing patty cake you can "roll it" and "toss it up high" now, cutest thing!

You love birds and fish, when we go to story time at the library we always have to check out those fish tanks and you can spot a bird outside the window in a no time

You know how to sign "please" but its usually out of context!
We moved you into the next step car seat shortly after you turned 9 months! It doesn't look like it sleeps very comfortably but you seem to like it!

You get into everything! You just love to explore this world around you and take it all in, we love to watch you learn!

I can't believe how fast your first year is going!
We love you Gray-Gray!

Grayden Robert, you are 9 month old!

Friday, February 19, 2010

Grayden, I can not believe you are 9 months old already. Time flies with you in our life!

You celebrated your birthday with a sleepover by grampie and grammie l's house while mommy and daddy were away with the youth group kids!

Here's what you've been up to this month:

You cut your first two teeth!

You eat 5 bottles a day and 3 meals; mostly purees with a few finger foods mixed in. You started to refuse all green veggies.

You wear 6-9 month clothes

You love to clap and play peek-a-boo

You recently started to do itsy bitsy spider...its so cute!

You are close to being able to stand independently but you get a little too excited and jump instead!

You are so tough, you take some pretty good spills and shake it right off. Such a big boy!

You are doing a great job sleeping most nights but occasionally need daddy to comfort you/ i don't think he minds though!

Physically you haven't done anything huge this past month compared to other months but mentally you are developing so fast...I love to watch you explore and figure out how your toys work. You are really smart and pick up on things we teach you really quickly. My favorite is to watch you turn pages of your books you take that task very seriously.

You love to push your scooter around and you are getting really fast!

You've had 4 haircuts so far...it grows so fast!

You surprised us by climbing stairs this month!

We love to watch your little personality develop.

You babble all the time lately but you aren't saying any words yet...hopefully "ma ma" in the near future!

You are the happiest baby, you hardly ever cry and are always smiling and giggling...you even laugh when mommy tells you 'no' no matter how serious I am.

We love you so much buddy, more than you will ever know.

Mommy and Daddy

Grayden Robert, you are 8 months old!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Grayden, you are 8 months old today~

to celebrate we stayed home and played all day today!

Here is what you are up too:

You weigh 19 lbs 9 oz

You have 5 bottles a day between 6-7 oz

You love to eat all kinds of food, I would say your favorites right now are squash and pears and your least favorite is green beans. Puffs are a huge hit as well as anything mom gives you off her plate!

You've started to do this fake smile thing when we try to get your attention.

You also recently started to mimic our faces when we talk to you, like if we look surprised, you make this cute little "o" with your mouth...so adorable!

You are so happy, I love the way your face lights up when you see me walk into your room in the morning...melts my heart! You make me feel like the best mommy in the world and I love you that about you!

You stand up on everything and even started to walk along the furniture.

If you start walking on your own anytime in the near future I might have to push you down, I am not ready for you to be so grown up yet....just kidding, its probably not much different than crawling 100 miles an hour like you already do :)

You are so busy, always on the go but to my delight you do like to snuggle from time to time!

You celebrated your 1st Christmas and New Years this month

You normally take two naps anywhere from 45 mins-2 hours but you can get by with only one when you want to be stubborn and skip one!

You have been sleeping great during the night. (9:30 pm -9:00 am) up once around 5 for a bottle.

You wear size 3 diapers

You wear mostly 6 months size clothes.

You went on your first snowmobile ride with mommy and daddy.

You've been holding your bottle on your own for a few (3?) months already but I don't think I've ever wrote about it

You had your adoption finalized on Dec 21!

You love to play peek-a-boo and play with anything that you can put in your mouth, (hence the 8 month picture at the top!) you also recently started to bang your toys together which is really comical to watch!

You turn 1 year old in only 4 months and that makes me want to cry....you grow too fast and I just want to freeze you in time!

We love you sweet boy! You've blessed the past 8 months of our lives so much!

Monday, December 14, 2009

Grayden Robert,

You turned 7 months old on Saturday!

We said our final goodbyes to your Great Grandma W at her funeral and burial in the afternoon, you did super good. At night we celebrated your 7 month birthday by doing a little shopping and having dinner at Applebee’s.

Here’s what you’ve been up to:
*You have been crawling like crazy and get faster and faster everyday! It’s so much fun to watch you explore and learn.

*You pull yourself up to stand on everything!

*You can wave and give kisses and even ‘give five’ when we’re lucky!

*Mommy gave you your first haircut.

*You wear mostly 6 month clothes and size 2-3 diapers but once this pack is used up you’ll be into size 3’s!

*You weigh 19 lbs.

*You eat 5 bottles a day and love your baby food that mommy makes you….you eat like such a big boy!

*You started drinking from a sippy cup this month but prefer your bottle.

*You sleep from 9:30 pm-8:30 am and usually get up at 3:30 for your paci and 5:00 for a bottle but you always fall right back asleep.

*You (usually) take a 1.5 hour morning nap and a 2 hour afternoon nap and sometimes another 30 minute cat nap after dinner.

*You are such a good boy, you hardly ever cry and when you do its because you are either hungry or tired.

*You don’t have any teeth yet but we think they’re coming soon

*You met Santa and sat on his lap, you were fascinated with him!

*We celebrated your first thanksgiving which was so special for us, we are so thankful to have you in our lives, Grayden.

We love you so much and look forward to another great month with you!
Love, Mommy and Daddy!

Grayden Robert, you are 6 months old!

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Grayden~ I can't believe you are half a year old already, what a big boy you are!

Mommy and Daddy love you so much, you have brought SO much joy to our lives! We are so thankful to your birth parents and to God for choosing us to be your parents, we hope and pray that we are doing a good job! These past 6 months have been the best times of our lives!

Here's what you have been up to this month:

You eat 4 6-oz bottles and 8 oz before bed. You also have oatmeal in the morning and rice cereal at night. And you've been trying some veggies and fruits like green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, and applesauce. So far you seem to love peas and bananas the most!

You're sleeping habits continue to seek improvement! You wake up a lot and we are not sure why but last night you slept 9 hours straight and then woke up for a bottle and slept another 3 hours so maybe you are starting to get back on track like you were 2 months ago, fingers crossed :)
You weigh 18 lbs 6 oz and 27" long....you've moved up into the 75th %ile!
You wear mostly 3-6 months clothes
You are in size 2-3 diapers.

You are developing so much physically, you are putting yourself into the seated position, pulling yourself up to stand, and just recently mastered the army crawl/forward scootch! You can slowly get anywhere you want.

You had your first sleepover by grandma and grandpa r's house so mommy and daddy could get a full nights sleep!

You had your first cold, you were pretty sick for about 5 days and had a fever, cough and runny nose. Not fun!
You went to grandma and grandpa l's cottage up north for the first time and we had so much fun there!

You had lots of pictures taken this past month, Grandpa R's side of the family all got together for a family picture and we had our picture taken with Mommy's side and had our immediate family pictures taken! Good thing you are so photogenic!

You started sitting in the high chairs are restaurants instead of staying in your car seat! This makes you seem like such a big boy to me!

This iAlign Lefts what you did the whole time during dinner Tuesday night at Logan's.....you'd arch your back so that you could watch everybody as they walked by you!
You dressed up for your first Halloween!

You love to give kisses.

You love books and love to be read to!

You love to just sit and play for hours!

You went to your first concert tonight, Selah and Avalon

We can't wait to see what you'll be up to next!! Love you tootie ;) ( I promise I'll stop calling you that by the time you are in Kindergarten!)
