Friday Favorites

"These are a few of my favorite things" (lately)

I got this cookbook for Christmas, and although I'm not doing a Whole30 challenge (and probably never will be, ha)  I LOVE the recipes!
We've made several of them, they are easy (Robb even made a couple of them while I was gone!) and they are so flavorful and delicious!

I'm loving this song.
Reckless Love - Cory Asbury

I'm a huge fan of podcasts! I listen whenever I'm folding laundry, cleaning the house or prepping dinner.
I loved Candace Cameron Bure as a guest on Jamie Ivey's podcast "The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey Episode #176"
I love how Candace remains true to her Christian values while in the entertainment and fashion/beauty industry. And of course, I love Full/er House, because I need some cheesy entertainment in my life ;)

I just made the Modern Leather Tote from Noonday Collection my new favorite "must have" bag!
It's made in India with the softest leather, and provides dignified work and fair income to the Artisans!

The Root Collective is another amazing company that ethically makes the cutest boots and shoes, and creates jobs for the people who need them in Guatemala!
PS. Candace Cameron Bure is a fan of them too, and I already mentioned I'm a fan of hers!
I have my eyes on these Chloe wedges once they are back in stock!

Woven By Love Retreat

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

I had another amazing weekend at the Woven By Love Retreat for adoptive and foster moms.
This was my 3rd year and it just keeps getting better!

Rebekah Lyons was our General Session speaker. She was amazing!

It's such a gift to be surrounded by this community of women who understand both the joy and struggles of adoption!

Noonday SHINE Conference

Thursday, January 18, 2018

I just got back from an amazing weekend in Austin, TX for the Noonday Collection SHINE Conference.
It was packed full of encouraging speakers, amazing leaders, like-minded ambassadors, and delicious food!

This was my first time traveling alone, I felt like a true adult! Thankfully, I did meet up with some fellow ambassadors and we navigated the airport terminals, city bus route, and journey to our hotel as a team!

Our emcee for the weekend was the one and only Jamie Ivey!

I "fan-girled" so hard, the only thing I could think to say to her was that she had killer legs! Oh my word!

The group of artisan partners from Uganda, Peru and India! It was so empowering hearing them speak about how Noonday is impacting their lives!

Team dinner of chips and guac and queso!

I found this in my suitcase from my sweet and supportive hubby!

These POWERHOUSE women started it all!
Jalia  (Artisan partner from Uganda) and Jessica (founder of Noonday Collection)

Adoptive mom group out for dinner Friday night!

About to head to the Spring Line fashion show!

Taking my new Spring Line lookbook along to pour over at the PJ party!

Pic with my incredible roomies Saturday morning.

Book signing with Jamie Ivey
I redeemed myself a little, and this time I asked her who her favorite pod-cast guest was! (She had to think hard, but said "Sally Lloyd Jones!)

Jen Hatmaker was a guest speaker at one of the General Session, she had me laughing and crying in true "Jen Hatmaker" form!

Jessica and I posing for a picture!

Awards and Recognition Dinner

I left Austin Sunday morning with a heart full of love for this world changing company!

What I took away from this conference was that even though my impact seems small, and I have a lot of growing I'd like to see happen in my business, my contribution DOES matter, and it is making a difference. It's an honor to be a part of!
