Gulf Shores {Day 7 and 8}

Friday, April 8, 2016

Wednesday was our last full day in Gulf Shores, we took a short drive to check out the fishing pier

By the time we got back the sky had turned overcast, and it had gotten really windy, so we swam for a little while and then decided it would be a good day to go mini golfing.

After golfing we grabbed some groceries for the ride home and started to do a little packing.

We headed to the Hangout for dinner. They had a bubble machine that the boys just couldn't get enough of, they were soaked in no time.

After we ate we went back outside where the kids played on a huge sand pile with a tunnel running through it, and the boys jumped on a bungee trampoline.

Thursday morning we took one last walk on the beach, loaded up and headed to Mobile to spend the day with my friend Anne, who moved down there in December.

It was so great to catch up with her and get a glimpse of her new life in Mobile.

(bummer Adler didn't make it in this kid group photo, but he was napping, such a sleepy little boy!)

We loaded back in the van at 4:00 and Robb drove us straight home (with a stop for dinner at CFA, a couple fuel fill-ups and potty stops) to snowy Michigan at 7:00 am.

We had a great time in Gulf Shores. I'd be lying if I said the kids behaved perfectly, we were definitely ready to be home, and back on normal routines, but we are so thankful for an amazing vacation and safe travels.

Gulf Shores {Day 6}

Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Tuesday morning we planned to drive to Pensacola, FL to watch the Blue Angels practice, we left around 10:00, but not before a relaxing morning walk on the beach.

 The kids had fun collecting shells and Gray helped the beach garbage pick up crew by bringing them any washed up trash. He loves to help people.

Then we took the 40 minute drive (which ended up taking much longer. Turns out we weren't the only ones with that idea!) to Pensacola, FL.

It was so amazing to watch the jets perform so perfectly! Definitely a highlight of our trip.

When we got back to the condo we hit up the beach and the pool. We were thrilled to discover the pool had warmed up and we could enjoy the water! I even got in!

For dinner we went to LuLu's the kids had a great time playing in the sand while we waited for our table.

After LuLu's we stopped at "Matt's" for homemade ice cream. Oh so good!

Gulf Shores {Day 5}

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Monday morning we went out for breakfast at Tacky Jack's in Orange Beach.

A nice man introduced us to "George" a cracker loving duck, the kids had fun feeling him saltines!

Then we headed to the Gulf Shores Zoo for the morning, it was such a nice zoo!

Jovie was not a fan of the goat looking at her! :)

we found a Cockatoo named JoJo :)

Sadler was a big fan of the tigers (who were sleeping under that wooden structure) because they share his same birthday, April 19!
After the zoo we went to a couple stores/shops and then back to the condo for lunch and more fun in the sun

We ate dinner at the condo and laid low for the night.
Jovie didn't get a nap that day, hence why she's fast asleep on the floor! :)
