Paco Rocks!!

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Thank you so much for all of your prayers these last few days!
We arrived in Rochester Sunday afternoon and started our tests early Monday morning. We both had blood and urine tests. Mindy's tests also included an 18 hour blood pressure recording and a renal clearance test. I met with a doctor and also had a needle biopsy of my new kidney.
This morning Mindy met with a few doctors to go over her tests, she is doing GREAT.
I met with my doctor again this afternoon to go over my biopsy results. We were all pretty nervous about this b/c the doctor we met with the day before rattled off a bunch of things that could show up, rejection, infection, inflammation, recurrent disease, etc. We were both prepared to hear that the disease was back since we had heard from day one that that was very possible. But that is not what we heard, Paco looks great! My doctor told me we could not have asked for better results!
Go Paco! Go God! Praise God, He is Good!
I also am feeling much better and my white blood count has gone back up a little bit. My meds were also adjusted to keep it in range. Yeah, 4 less pills to take!

Hi Katie. While blog hopping tonight, I can across your blog and was instantly intrigued. I too am from West MI (the first thing I noticed somehow!) and I quickly got sucked into your story. I just spent the past 3 hours reading your entire blog. What an amazing story you and your husband share. I admire your attitude, even through the difficult days. I'm not sure that I would be able to survive what you had this past year. It's good to see what an amazing God we serve. Congratulations on the clean bill of health.
Melissa
ps. If you still have availability for your personal blog, I'd love to be able to follow your journey to motherhood. Thanks.

Praise God for the good report! We are so glad all is going so good for you both!

Funny thing, we were thinking of Mayo ourselves tonight. My family took me out to Red Robin for a burger, (for my birthday) but Amy and I both said that it is still nothing like NEWTS in Rochester. If you like burgers and fries, you gotta try them. It is a small place on the upper level of a little cafe just maybe a block or 2 south of the Gonda entrance.

Take care!
