"He will belong to the Lord all his life"

(taken from 1 Samuel 1: 28)

Grayden was baptised in our church yesterday. It was such a special day for our family, one we had been looking forward to for a long time. Our pastor preached on 1 Samuel 1 and it was the most perfect passage I could have picked to correspond to our life. I have used the passage "For this child I prayed" many times in reference to our life with Grayden and it wasn't until recently that I read deeper into the last part of the 27th and 28th verses more carefully where it says "and the Lord answered my prayer and gave him to me. 28 Now I give him back to the Lord. He will belong to the Lord all his life." And this is what baptism is to us, our promise to God to bring Grayden up to serve Him and belong to his family. We pray everyday that Grayden will belong to the Lord all his life!
Here are some pictures from our special day!

does this look familiar? My MIL made this banner and it hung in the sanctuary!

Okay, too funny. Did you make that onesie with the tie? I literally have ties cut out and ready to be sewn on Ty's onesies, as we speak! I, too, plan on having him wear it at his dedication!

That tie shirt is super cute!! And, yes it's a good thing Jesus is spelled right or it might end up on Cake wrecks.

Katie,
This is by far one my most favorite posts! What a blessing to have Grayden baptised. It brought tears to my eyes! I must say too... that the banner your mother in law made was beautiful. So fitting and perfect for you AND I just had a long conversation with a friend last night about claiming this verse and praying on it daily, so I found it slightly ironic that you had in your blog! Congratulations!
With all my love,
Bekki

I just found your blog on my nightly blog hop through the cybersphere, and I am thoroughly amazed by you!

Grayden is just beautiful! What a little miracle, after all you have been through.

I've been here, reading through your posts for at least an hour, now. We have a great deal in common.

My 14 year old son was diagnosed with a kidney disease at 13 months of age. His kidneys failed when he was 11 years old, and he received his transplant just before his 12th birthday.

Your posts about the meds, the deterioration of the diseased kidneys . . . well, everything was just all too familiar.

My brother donated his kidney to Koby, and we are forever in his debt. I wonder if they have that t-shirt in "Uncle." lol

Anyhow, I just wanted to say that you are truly an inspiration to your readers.

I'm going to stalk you, now. ;o)
