January ~Robb’s 27th birthday and we announce our decision to adopt again

February~ I’m an auntie! Makenna Sue is born!

Wow! You are growing SO fast!


You are standing alone for short periods of time and getting all over the place!

You STILL wear size 2 diapers, but have been ready to move into size 3’s for awhile now but mommy just bought WAY too many 2’s!
You wear 6-9 month clothes
You have 4 bottles a day and baby food 3 times a day.

You’ve become quite a mommy/daddy’s boy lately and shy away from strangers.
You’ve become a much better sleeper as the time goes by, typically 3 naps a day and 11 hours at night.

I haven’t yet been able to blog about the nice Christmas we had this year after the reality of the fact that not everyone has a “merry” Christmas became very real in my own life this past week.

It seemed so superficial to post about this party and that present until I addressed what’s really been on my mind first.

On Christmas Day our friend and neighbor,(up until 6 weeks ago, when we moved) Jim, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 36. Jim’s wife, Sarah, and their 2 kids have been on my mind and in my prayers ever since. My heart just aches for them. I just can’t believe how quickly life can change and its reminded me again just how much I take for granted.

Please join me in praying for this family as they walk this difficult journey.

We had Robb’s immediate family party Sunday night after church.

We came here for dinner; I made bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin, scalloped potatoes and broccoli.

Then it was time for presents!

i think we have a lot of ‘grayden concerts’ in our future!

we had our first Christmas party Saturday night with my immediate family, we have a busy weekend with extended sides this weekend so we did the immediate sides Saturday and Sunday.

We started out with dinner at Kobe Grill, my fave!

after dinner we came back to our house for games and presents but not before the annual family picture!

My mom organized “minute to win it” games! so fun, even though i didn’t win!

Then it was time for a few more pictures of the kids and then presents!

We asked everyone not to go overboard on gifts, my boys boys have MORE than enough. Both sets of grandparents chipped in money to get them a play set next Spring, which I know they’ll love!
