Disney World Trip {arrival day & Magic Kingdom}

Friday, December 7, 2018

We just got back from an amazing vacation to "the happiest place on Earth" (in full disclosure, there were plenty of "not the happiest" moments, a few arguments, and bouts of bad attitudes mixed in with the fun. It was magical, but not miraculous! :)

We started off our trip bright an early Wednesday morning at 3:00am to get on our 5:30am flight out of GR. Sadler was excited to tear down the last link on our countdown chain.

We made it to Orlando at 10:00 and took the Magical Express to our resort.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside

After we got checked in, we grabbed some lunch at the on site food court and then walked around the resort for awhile. The plan was to use this day to relax by the pool after an early morning, but it was freezing, so we had to find other ways to stay busy while we waited for our room to be ready.

We took a surrey bike tour around the resort.

And then took the boat to Disney Springs

 Checking out the Lego store

We had a fun and delicious dinner at T-REX

We got back to our resort around 7:30. We were so exhausted and went to sleep early ready to take on our first park day Thursday!

Thursday morning started off with our bus ride to Magic Kingdom!
Some highlights were:
reliving old memories on the "It's a Small World" ride : fave character spottings : snacks galore : flirty stepsisters : first rollercoaster rides : lit up castle : rides on the monorail

Jovie wanted me to show her a picture of her hair to make sure it's just right for her photo with Rapunzel.

Elsa froze the castle with snow and ice!

The park closed for a special ticketed event at 6:00.
We hoped on the monorail to grab some dinner at the Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary Resort.

After eating we headed back to our resort and called it a day!

Oh yay!!! Can't wait to read all about the rest! Step-sisters on the carousel, how fun?! How did Jovie do on 7 Dwarfs?

So much fun!!! We were there the week of Thanksgiving!!! When we went to the TRex Cafe, it was so loud! Like had to scream at the person sitting next to you just so they could hear! Was it like that for y’all? We also had a pool day planned, and were thankful for the heated pool, cause it was chilly outside!

Yes it was VERY loud Katie! I could hardly hear our waiter!
Deb, Jovie wasn't a big fan of any of the rollercoasters, but she was a trooper!
