changes

I am sure it is no surprise to you that there have been lots of changes around our house lately!!! Experiencing motherhood has been such a joy and way more fulfilling than I ever imagined. Life will never be the same!
So in keeping with the theme of changes I think its time to change up this blog a little bit. My blog friend Patrice has been busy working on a new layout for me and I have been throwing around the idea of a new title for this blog.
I started this blog back in March of last year as a way for me to journal my thoughts and relay prayer requests after we lost Brenham, never did I imagine where my life would take me...through kidney failure, a transplant and the journey to adopt our new son! So the title "when hello means good-bye" is still fitting but really my story is SO much more than that now and I want this blog to be about all of that. I have a few new titles I am considering but before I make any decisions I wanted to ask all of my supportive blog readers for your suggestions...so get thinking and leave your ideas in the comment section or email me at katielubbers (at) hotmail (dot) com
I can't wait to see what you come up with and stay tuned for the big change!
And thanks for welcoming our newest addition so warmly! I can't wait to share more when the time is right!

What about "When good-bye means hello"?

Miranda said...

I feel like that needed a little more explanation...it was sad to say good bye to Brenham. More like devastating on a level many of us will never know, but in saying good bye, you've said hello to so many people who have supported and prayed for you on this journey. So, Good-bye has meant Hello.

I like the "when good-bye means hello" so fitting. Who knew that when you said good-bye to your sweet baby you would meet so many new faces and the path would lead you to your sweet sweet baby G!!

I really like Miranda's suggestion - beautiful!!

Katie, I'm not creative enough to come up with a name for your blog but do want to tell you THANK YOU for sharing your wonderful news and pictures on your blog. He is so sweet. God's Blessings.

Kate,
I suggested that you switch your blog name to "When goodbye means hello" a long time ago... ha! What prize do I win? not really!

Yes, it doesn't have to diminish your love for Brenham, but how he has helped your journey to be closer to God, and to meet many new people, especially precious little Grayden!
Anyway, whatever you decide, blessings to your dear family.

I like when goodbye means hello too, but you should also consider putting tags on your posts about Brenham, and your kidney failure so that readers can link to that part of your story. Your little Brenham has quite the legacy, and the way you handled yourself through his loss and your medical problems are a testimony of your faith that deserves to be read about! Congrats on your new little guy, he is very cute, and looks much loved.

I am sentimental and couldn't completely get rid of your title now so how about combining a couple of the great suggestions above and doing something like "When Hello Means Good-bye and Hello Again" or "When Hello Means Good-bye, Another Door Opens"

Hey Katie! I think everyone has wonderful ideas for your new blog name :)

I don't know how well either of these would work, but these came to mind...

-The Surest Signs of Grace-
...this is from the DCB song "wholly yours", and I think we've seen many signs of God's grace in all that you've shared with us over the past year :)

-In The Midst of Our Land-
...or something like this...I just keep thinking of God being in the midst of your land (life) and all that you've done and been through. And it seems fitting. He surely is in the midst of your land :)

Congratulations!! I'm assuming from your description of the blog that his name is Grayden? :) What a blessing and testimony you are to so many! We're praying for your family from out here in CA! :)

I like "When Goodbye means Hello" too.

I have been reading your blog for the past year or so now and prayed for you through the past many many months. I remember the song and video you posted from Brenham's funeral called "There is a Reason". I think something like that would be fitting as well.

God bless you. This time right now is so, so precious. Don't worry too much about us blogger readers who are lurking about. We will "keep"... babies (as the poem goes) do not :) Savor him!!! He will be a toddler throwing himself on the floor in tantrums before you know it. (Not that I would know anything about that... ahem)

Anyway, my heart is bursting with joy for you and how richly the Lord has blessed you! Isn't He good???

Much love,
~Michelle

Just found your blog and wanted to post my support. I am an adoptive mother and also have a biological daughter who is medically fragile. Your story really strikes a chord with me. I hope this new chapter in your life will be full of joy and peace.
