The most wonderful time of the year?

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

I haven’t yet been able to blog about the nice Christmas we had this year after the reality of the fact that not everyone has a “merry” Christmas became very real in my own life this past week.

It seemed so superficial to post about this party and that present until I addressed what’s really been on my mind first.

On Christmas Day our friend and neighbor,(up until 6 weeks ago, when we moved) Jim, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 36. Jim’s wife, Sarah, and their 2 kids have been on my mind and in my prayers ever since. My heart just aches for them. I just can’t believe how quickly life can change and its reminded me again just how much I take for granted.

Please join me in praying for this family as they walk this difficult journey.

This family has been on my church's prayer line. I don't even know them and my heart aches. I knew of another young Mom of three young boys who lost her husband this past fall in a jet skiing accident. We take way too much for granted. And I pray Sarah and others who experience this heartache feel others lifting them up in prayer.

My heart goes out to you, your amily, and Jim's family. We lost a dear friend of ours 4 days before Christmas. Such a hard time to lose a loved one.

Hi Katie - oh no, this is just horrible news. God must have had a special job for him in heaven - I will keep this family in my prayers.

Heartbreaking. I'm just a lurker here but just felt I had to say something on this post.

"Today is all there is. Yesterday is done and gone and tomorrow isn't here yet. Live life today as if it were your last day. Tell those you love that you love them and always give your husband a kiss as he goes out the door :)"

I try hard to live by this little saying because you really don't know what's going to happen tomorrow.

My prayers are with that family even though I don't know them.
Hugs

Sarah was the MOPS leader at our church when I attended. She also is in Bible study with me. I've been following Jim's carepages for a while but was totally shocked as well. I'm thinking and praying constantly for them.
