Rietman Family Thanksgiving Cruise

Saturday, December 2, 2017

Our family just got back from an amazing Royal Caribbean Thanksgiving Cruise with my parents, sisters, brother in law, and nieces.

The kids had a half day of school on Wednesday, so we picked them up at noon, and headed get lunch, and then to the airport to catch our 3:30 flight.

A shuttle bus picked us up and took us to the SpringHill Marriott Hotel nearby

Thanksgiving morning we waited by the pool until our transportation picked us up to head to the port.
The excitement to swim was sky-high!

We were onboard at 11:00 and the first thing on our agenda was the lunch buffet, quickly followed by the POOL, and ice cream!

sunning sisters!

Sadler ate his weight in ice cream, I know that's just a silly phrase, but I'm not even kidding, I think he really did!

All ready for Thanksgiving Dinner!

Grayden ordered and enjoyed escargot 3 out of the 4 nights, he also frequently enjoyed the fresh catch of the day!

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without Pumpkin Pie!

Our dinner went a little late that night so we skipped the evening show, but we were pretty exhausted anyways so that was ok!

Friday was our first full day at sea, we enjoyed lots of pool time

dancing on the pool deck

Grayden and Sadler rock climbing!

All dressed up for the formal dinner!

We had the privilege of watching their last GREASE performance!
It was a highlight for sure!

After dinner the boys (Jovie wasn't a fan) went to the kids club for awhile where they did all sort of fun things, hence the face paint!

Saturday morning we woke up in Cozumel, Mexico!

We booked an excursion to swim with dolphins!
The kids were a little hesitant, but I knew they'd love it!

The rest of the day we enjoyed their beautiful facilities, including the pool, a delicious lunch, a sea lion show, and the beach!

A view of the Independence of the Seas!

Ready for another great dinner!
I guess Jovie was sick of all the pictures!

The entertainment that night was a singing group.

Sunday morning was our last day at sea, heading back to Florida.
My mom, sisters and I took an aqua fit class, if you can't tell we were FREEZING! Ha!

My personal little pool girl and boy bringing me a fruit plate!

Watching Despicable Me 3 by the pool

We had really great weather the whole time, with an occasional random rain and dark skies with this cool water funnel!

enjoying one last lunch at the Windjammer Cafe

That afternoon we had tickets to the ice show, always a favorite of mine!

Our last dinner

Grandpa and Grandma with the grandkids!

Our whole group!

Grayden was able to borrow the table scraping tool from our waitress and he loved cleaning up our crumbs!
The entertainment that night was a musical.
We were up bright and early Monday morning to get off the ship and head back to the same hotel we stayed at Wednesday night. A shuttle bus picked us from the port and brought us back, it all went really smoothly and it was nice not having to be in a rush to catch a flight or wait all day in the airport for a later flight!

One last swim!

Our last couple trips have included strange injuries, this was the result of a headstand gone wrong! That's what I get for trying to be a cool Aunt! :)

Our flight left Tuesday morning and we were back in GR at 3:30 with memories to last a lifetime!

We are so thankful for the opportunity to travel and spend quality time with family!
Thank-you Mom and Dad for a great trip!!

Also, thank you to Jamie, our travel agent who did an amazing job planning and coordinating our large group! She'd be happy to help anyone plan their trip if you're looking for help! Her services are free!
