Christmas with the Rietmans

Wednesday, December 30, 2015

We did Christmas with my side of the family Sunday night.
We came a little early to help make dinner; apricot and apple stuffed pork, it was very good!

Jovie got new moccasins, a Bitty Baby, minnie mouse earphones, slippers, a water bottle, and more

the boys got new Toms, magnatiles, walkie talkies, remote control bumper boats, water bottles and more.

My mom and dad did a penny auction again this year, which is my favorite, and the kids did Christmas bingo and earned more fun things!

Christmas with the Lubbers

We celebrated Christmas with Robb's side of the family Saturday night.

We played pictionary, which was so fun. I couldn't believe how well the boys did!

We ate some super yummy pizza for dinner and then opened gifts

The boys got vtech action cams to mount on their bikes and smart watches, guitars, handmade pillowcases made by grandma, legos, and more!

Jovie got a suitcase, a pillowcase, minnie mouse toys, her very first Barbie, and lots of other fun stuff!

Christmas Day

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

The kids opening stockings in the morning while daddy made cinnamon rolls!

A family picture before heading to church Christmas morning.

After church we headed to my grandma's church for lunch.
Grayden with his second plate of goodies :)

thanking great Grandma for her new books with a kiss!

most of the great grandkids

We didn't have a party in the evening so we ended up making last minute plans to go to my parents house once we woke up from naps, the guys picked up Arby's for dinner and we played games.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

Christmas Eve

We always do our little family party on Christmas Eve. I made root beer chicken wings and a rice dish, and we had sherbet for dessert, which the kids just loved!

Their excitement, hugs and screams of "thank you mom and dad!' make all the crowds, busy parking lots, long lines and cranky cashiers worth it all!

We got Grayden, a light up bow and arrow, Quixels, and a lego set. Sadler got a light up bow and arrow, Suspend game, and dinosaur toy. Jovie got Puppy Surprise, a vtech tablet and a baby stroller.

Robb took the kids shopping and they each picked out a special gift for me, which was so precious! Grayden picked out light up bulb earrings, that he wrapped up in a box made of Magnatiles, picture to come! Sadler got me a bright pink fuzzy robe, and Jovie picked out a new coffee mug! And Robb got me a sweater. We don't always exchange gifts so that was a special surprise!

The boys each made us some hand-print gifts they made at school.

Christmas Program 2015

Sunday, December 20, 2015

The boys both sang in our church Christmas program last Sunday, they did so good!
It made my heart swell to see their smiles and hear them sing praises to Jesus our Savior

Jovie's 2nd Birthday

I love our birthday tradition of taking the birthday babe out for breakfast, with Jovie's birthday being on a Sunday we made it into a brunch instead so we could go to church without having to wake everyone up early!

After the boys were off to Sunday School we headed to Bob Evens for some pancakes (which she barely touched!)

We didn't quite make it back in time to pick the boys up, so thankfully my parents were able to help us out!

It was so much fun giving 100% of our attention to her for a bit.

Jovie's TUTU birthday party

We had Jovie's birthday party this afternoon, after postponing it last weekend due to sickness, we were TUTU excited to celebrate her!

Her invite

all ready to party in her pretty outfit

a family photo

for food we served a soup and salad bar

she got so many cute presents, a crib for her baby dolls,  dress up clothes, a scooter, a play makeup kit, and more. Whenever we would ask her what she wants for her party the only thing she would ever say was "suckers" so we had to buy her a bag of dum-dums too :)

As soon as she opened a box full of dress up clothes, she pulled down her skirt and tried a new one on!

...........................................

and it wouldn't be a two year old's birthday without a meltdown :)

Jovie Breann , you are 2 years old!

Sunday, December 13, 2015

Oh my, oh my, how is my baby 2?

Jovie, you are just as sweet as they come. You bring us so much JOY! Your sweet smiles and silly expressions just make my heart swell. You are becoming a bit of a diva too, you insist on having your fingers and toes polished, and you already have opinions on your clothes!
You love to eat, you love to snuggle and hug, but do not like kisses.

You came down with your first flu bug last week, thankfully it was short lived, but you passed it on to Sadler and your birthday party was postponed. We'll celebrate with your next week though! You know how mommy loves to stretch out the birthday celebrations :)

You wear your heart on your sleeve and we never have to wonder how you're feeling.

You are the best mommy to your baby dolls, so loving and nurturing!

You love to sing and your vocabulary is enormous.
Your well child visit isn't until the end of the month but according to our home scale you are about 32lbs, at the top of the charts I'm sure :)

You love baths, bedtime and naps have been a struggle lately.

We are so thankful for you, JoJo, our daily reminder of God's faithfulness.
Happy birthday, Jovie.
We love you!
