Flashback Friday

Friday, March 27, 2009

Last year on March 27 I was taken by ambulance to Spectrum Hospital in GR because of major swelling in my legs and feet, which developed into fluid in my lungs and shortness of breath. All of which ended up being a result of kidney failure.

this is what started it all:

(goodness gracious that is embarrassing)

After 66 hemo-dialysis treatments a few weeks of PD, tons of tests, hundreds of vials of blood taken, 3 blood transfusions, 9 surgeries, an amazing sister and support system, and thousands of prayers.....here we are a year later!

Praising God for skinny ankles!

It is truly amazing how much we can be tested and then, through faith, hope, and love, emerge whole and thankful! I am so happy that things are going well. I remember last year reading about your story in the Sentinel and bringing my husband downtown for the Big Give. You deserved all of the prayers and support!

Nice ankles ya have there! haha. I know it has got to be so relieving to have that issue taken care of. I love my skinny ankles... unfortunately the rest of me decided to swell up after 3 children in 1 1/2 years. Maybe I need some surgeries! hahaha. If only! Until then I am going to walk around with elephant thighs and chicken ankles! hahahaha

Congratulations for enduring and hanging in there for a skinnier/healthier side of life! Yay for a second chance!
