Pregnancy and Infant Loss Rememberance Day

Thursday, October 15, 2009

Each year, over half a million dreams are shattered. Out of 3.3 million babies born alive, some 30,000 die during the first 28 days. Another 39,000 babies are stillborn. Miscarriage occurs in fifteen to twenty percent of pregnancies, while ectopic pregnancy occurs in one percent. This day effects so many people. I f you have never yourself lost a baby, surly you know someone who has.
Today is the day to honor those babies, so I am asking you all to do that today, sometime, some way.
If you yourself have lost a child/ren allow me to honor your sweet baby today by leaving a comment and tell me a little something about your precious angel. I'll start us off.
If you want to leave a message of support for those mommies and daddies that have lost precious babies do that in the comment section too.
~~I'll be praying for you today.~~

To the Mommies and Daddies:
May you rest in knowing your precious ones are safe in the arms of Jesus. I'm so sorry for your loss and keep you in my prayers.

Bless you Kate. Brenham is such a sweet angel, looking down on you, Rob and his little brother Grayden from above.

I had a miscarriage in May '06. I was eight weeks pregnant and only knew I was pregnant for about two weeks. My husband and I found out I was pregnant the Friday before Mother's Day, which was so exciting. We lost the baby over Memorial Day weekend. I got pregnant about 5 weeks after that with my daughter, Marissa. She is 2 1/2 and, although she has many health issues, she is the love of our lives. I can't wait for us to be able to meet her older brother or sister in Heaven someday.

Thank you for doing this, you are such a caring person.

we finally got pregnant after trying for almost two years. we went in at 6 weeks for an ultrasound and saw the beautiful heartbeat. we went back two weeks later and there was no heartbeat. we were devasted. we never knew the baby's sex, but i decided to name my baby. in my head and heart he is nehemiah, God has comforted. he was due in early september, we could also use prayers as we continue to wait for God to bless us with a child. thanks for all you do.

On October 5, 2005 I miscarried our 2nd child at a little over 6 weeks. I got pregnant again at the end of that month and Abby is now a healthy and happy 4 year old.
I think about the baby I lost and wonder if it would have been the little brother that Max (our first) wants or if it would have been a little girl. I wonder what he/she would be like now and that baby will always have a place in my heart.
I tell my husband that Abby was truly meant to be ours since she was conceived so closely to losing her big brother/sister.
Also, my grandma lost 4 babies in infancy. Three of them were premature (they came at about 6 months) and the 4th was 2 months old when he died (she thinks whooping cough but the doctor said it was unexplained). They are My uncles Jimmy, Ricky, and Larry and my aunt Karen. My grandma does have 5 children that are living (my mom being one of them).

I lost my daughter, Tessa Marie, on February 7th, 2009 and she was 12 days old. She was perfect in every way, just too perfect for Earth. I miss her every moment of every day. www.remembertessa.com

I am remembering my two precious babies. Jordan Leigh on December 19, 2002 and Carleigh McKenna on March 28, 2009. Jordan was lost around 12 weeks and Carleigh was born still at 37 weeks.

Mommy loves you with all of her heart and I can't wait to see you again in Heaven with Jesus.

To all who have lost a little one, today we remember these precious lives that were too brief. Our lives will never be the same and tonight I will light a candle and release balloons for them all.

so many heart wrenching stories! thinking of everyone this day of remembrance.

I heard today during bible study that... "We cannot amputate our history to reach our destiny" our pasts are painful at times, but those moments are who we are today, because of your past you are able to minister to all these hurting woman/families. so thank you Katie!

Missing my little Caylin Grace, born too soon at 23 weeks, she was perfect, and I think of her daily and can't wait to see her again!

Alex Francis Walk- miscarried at 9 wks, only grew to 6 wks 5 days ... but in his short nine weeks, affected so many lives and helped spread Christ's love. We miss you Alex, and you will always be our little boy.

Katie, God bless you and your family! I was thinking of you today and hoping you knew that it was pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day... I went to a memorial service recently to remember Alex and met many beautiful people who've lost a child. They gave us all a candle and told us to light it tonight at 7pm -- and if everyone does that and keeps it burning for at least one hour, there will be a continuous wave of light to remember our little angels! So light a candle for sweet Brenham tonight! God bless! - The Walk Family

Emily Carol...born at 21 weeks. No heartbeat with ultrasound. Dr. thinks it was a kink in the cord. I am heartbroken.

Struggling to get pregnant again...we'll keep trying.

In May I went in for a nine week ultrasound; our baby had a very low heart rate and a week later it was no longer. I was devastated, but remind myself everyday that God has greater plans for me than I can even imagine for myself. I pray that plan includes a child. Many prayers for all the families who have suffered a loss.

I had a very early miscarriage. We've been trying to get pregnant for 2 years and that was the only time in two years I was able to get pregnant, and it was over a year ago. I am praying for some living siblings to bless us on earth, as my angel is blessing us in heavan!

Prayers for my friends and their angel Callie Rose. Waited for so long to have her...only to lose her too early. Doctors induced labor so that her mommy could hold her as she passed on to Heaven...what a beautiful soul.

after trying for 8 months to get pregnant i found out my twin sister had conceived their very first try. 3 weeks later we found out we were pregnant and our kids would be less than a month apart. we went in for our 20 week check up and to schedule our ultrasound when they couldnt detect a heartbeat. found out that we would give birth to identical twin boys who would go straight to heaven.
Blake Hunter and James Bridger were born July 2, 2004 sleeping.

My heart goes out to every Mother and Father that has experienced this kind of loss.

I have lost two babies. One missed miscarriage at 16 weeks in June of 05 and another this June @ 6 weeks. Not a day goes by that I don't think of those angels and how empty my arms feel.

Our 3 precious babies are remembered every day but today especially...

Olivia Grace... July 9 2005 23.5 weeks gestation. Lived on her own (dr.s turned their heads and would not help) for 30 minutes.

Samuel David... Feb 11 2006 17 weeks gestation. Moved his tiny little hands and was gone.

Ymali "Emma" Jane... Dec 5 2006 21.5 weeks gestation. She too was born kicking and fighting to survive as we held her, only to say goodbye 30 minutes later.

Our precious babies... oh how we miss you here on this earth. Your adopted brother is keeping us full of love and laughter here and soon we will all be together again! LOVING YOU ALWAYS

Your story is so inspiring. I think of Cole, born into Jesus' arms in May, thrilled that his momma is now expecting again. And of Baby Grace, born to Jesus over the weekend, hopefully to be delivered tomorrow so her beautiful mom can lay eyes on her briefly.

Six miscarriages in the first trimester, and our last baby girl, Allison June, lived for us a little over 2 days. She had Trisomy 13, and fought to see Mommy and Daddy. We still often think of her - 22 1/2 years later. Thankfully we also had 2 other beautiful children that are still with us today. Rejoicing in the hope of seeing Ally again in heaven.

What a great idea! I'm a blog 'stalker'...not sure if I've left a comment before??? :)
Noah James, miscarried at 6 weeks in August 2005. He was our 4th baby, and we only knew we were pregnant for a few days. Of course, we didn't know for sure that he was a 'he', but felt that he was...
We have since been blessed with two more precious little ones...God is faithful.
