My sweet Grandma went to Heaven yesterday morning. Visitation is tomorrow evening and the funeral will be Saturday. Thanks for your continued prayers for my family.
We will miss her very much.
I have so many great memories of my Grandma; her and my Grandpa lived just across the pickle field while I was growing up and I know I'll always think of her whenever I have peach pie (hers was the best) or hear people refer to Meijers as "Thrifty Acres" or when I eat at Steak n Shake, or whenever I see a letter opener.
She was a special lady and has blessed many people during her 90 years of life.
I know she celebrated lots of things in Heaven yesterday; meeting her Savior face to face, re-uniting with her husband and oldest son, meeting her great-grandson (Brenham) for the first time, having no more sorrow or pain and celebrated her youngest daughter (my mom's) birthday.
What a day, what a glorious day it must have been.

I will be praying!
I am so sorry for your loss, but she must be so happy now that she's with the Lord and reunited with her family. That must have been very difficult for your mom- to lose her mom on her birthday. Ya'll with be in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.
Continuing to pray for you and your family, Katie.
I read this in the newspaper too. Praying for your family. She sounds like a special lady. My grandmas called it "thrifty acres" too. So cute!
T&P for you all. I agree what a glorious day for her!
ugh - I am so sorry! I just lost my grandma, one month ago yesterday. It's so hard - but she's now in heaven, which is oddly refreshing. She ran the good race and won!
Sad :( Praying for your hearts to be filled with happy memories and much peace at this time.
I'm so sorry, Katie. T&P to you and your family.
Praying for your family
Thankful she's with God and that you had her in your life
Grandmothers are so special and letting them go is so hard. Bask in all those wonderful memories and know her love surrounds you always.
You speaking of her meeting her savior reminds me of the Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton song "When I get Where I'm Goin'" Love that song, as that's what I imagine it to be.
Love and prayers to you and your family.
Andrea
ps She's pretty :)
Katie, after meeting you with Grayden and your sisters and mom in Hobby Lobby this past fall, I stumbled onto your blog quite by accident, but have been reading it ever since. Who knew when I sat for you in church nursery what a path your life would take! I haven't commented up until now, but I just had to tell you I loved your Grandma W. She was such a sweet, classy lady, and one of my favorite "older" people from Bentheim Church from when I was growing up. How happy she must be to see your Grandpa and Larry again!
Hi Katie,
First off I am so sorry to hear about your grandma. I just came to your blog tonight and wow, you have an amazing story and I really enjoyed reading it and seeing your devotion in Christ, very neat! I just started my blog about 3 months ago my weight loss of loosing 161lbs in year, and also just random thoughts, but I love finding blogs like your that are so inspiring to read! I am excited to be a new follower and read your blog more :). Have a wonderful weekend.
