Last week Wednesday, my sisters and I left on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas! It was a quick little getaway to relax and soak up a few days of sun!
We had a great time!
We left for the GR airport at 3:45am on Wednesday morning. I didn’t set my alarm correctly, but thankfully Robb woke up 10 minutes after my alarm was supposed to go off! Not the most enjoyable start to the trip, I was so panicked. But we got to the airport with plenty of time to make our 5:50 flight.
We flew to Ft Lauderdale and got onboard Royal Caribbean’s ‘Independence of the Seas’ around 1pm. Lunch was first on our agenda and then we parked ourselves on the lounge chairs by the pool for the rest of the afternoon.
The ship left Ft. Lauderdale just before dinner time
Finally, it was dinner time, one of the things I was most looking forward too!
after dinner we headed to the theater to see a comedy show and then went straight to bed, it was a long, tiring day!
The next morning, we woke up in CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island. Its so beautiful there.
Before taking a tender boat to the island ,we grabbed some breakfast on the ship.
while on the boat to the island we got a great view of the entire ship
Lunch was served on the island
After lunch, Mindy and I took a ride down the GIANT water slide, before we did though, Mindy thought she should read the rules! Cracks me up ;) lol
I was slightly terrified as you can see!
We got back on the ship in time to do a quick Zumba class and then got ready for the formal dinner.
Even on vacation I get put to work :)
To end the night we went to the musical show.
Friday we were supposed to wake up in Nassau, Bahamas but for whatever reason, (we heard the ship was too big) we couldn’t dock there. So instead we spent the majority of the day at sea. We parked out by the pools again!
That afternoon we also went to an ice skating show on the ship, one of my favorite parts!
We arrived in Freeport, Bahamas around 3, so we got off there and did a little shopping
At night, we did the dinner and show thing again to wrap up our cruise vacation.
We got off the ship Saturday morning and spent the day in Ft Lauderdale sitting by the hotel pool and doing some shopping.
Sunday morning we were back on the plane headed home!
A huge thanks to Robb, Mom L and Mom R for watching the boys while I was enjoying some girl time!
