"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give (her) to the Lord. For (her) whole life (she) will be given over to the Lord.” Samuel 1: 27-28

Jovie was wearing the same gown I (and her cousins and aunties) wore for our baptism. So special.

Jovie's baptism day was such a special day for us as we made a commitment to God to raise Jovie in a Christian home, and show her the love of Jesus. What made the day extra special was that it also marked 6 years (which wasn't done on purpose, our first choice was for a date was in April, but it didn't work out for our pastor, just a cool 'coincidence') since we said our final goodbyes to Brenham at his funeral and burial service.

The service began with the congregation singing a couple songs I requested, "Blessed be Your Name" and "Never Once" both by Matt Redman, as they both speak volumes to our testimony and the journey we had to get here.

"You give and take away
 You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name"
-------------------------------------------------
"Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say
Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful"

The baptism went great (I was a little worried!), Jovie got startled with the water and let out a sweet little cry, but settled down quickly.  And Sadler loudly whispered that he wanted a turn to splash the water! Grayden looked on with pride as his little sister was baptized.

Grandpa Lubbers prayed over us.

After the service we had our families over for a small lunch to celebrate this joyous occasion.
Jovie had to change into her party outfit, she looked so sweet in this little handmade (not by me!) onesies.

The kiddos put on a little concert in Jovie's honor, adorable!

Such a great day!
