friday

i had an appt at 9am to get the stitches taken out of my foot

IMG_2531

while i was waiting, i saw this shirt on zulily

if i had a $ for every time someone asked me where Sadler was from, (not that it bothers me) I could buy him 3 of them!

IMG_2533

turns out my incision wasn’t quite ready to have the stitches taken out. instead the doc changed my bandages and I about passed out! I’ve been queasy about this thing, its crazy! i don’t know when I became so wimpy.

I was so disappointed to hear my stitches weren’t coming out until next Friday! They are right on the arch of my food and makes it difficult to walk. We have fun plans for the weekend and now they just won’t be the same since I can hardly walk :(

After a good cry in the car I swung through the mcd’s drive thru for a chocolate chip cookie and then felt much better!

IMG_2535

another 6 lbs lost and meeting surpassing my goal weight (21 pounds total) deserved a little online shopping!

ironic how this is posted right under the cookie picture :)

IMG_2539

this summer has been the first time I’ve ever lost weight, on purpose. It was hard work but I feel so good now and have lots more energy and confidence. My weight gain was a gradual process over the past 3 years and it was only going to get worse, I knew I had to stop it now before it got out of control.

I’m to the point now where I’m only trying to maintain my weight and continue to tone up. We’ll see how that goes, could be the hardest part of all!

weekend wrap up

Monday, August 27, 2012

we had a pretty low-key, relaxing weekend. I had a minor outpatient surgery on my foot Friday morning so we stayed home Friday night so I could rest. Robb made dinner and rented a movie for us. After we ate, the boys went out for ice cream with my parents while we watched the movie.

Saturday we met up with Gray’s birth dad for a visit at the park. We had lunch and then played for awhile, it was a really nice visit.

IMG_2440

After the park, we went home and the boys went down for naps.

We had pizza by Robb’s parents house for a little get together while Robb’s uncle is in town from Arizona.

My sister in law and I in our matching boots!

Robb took the boys to church Sunday morning and we spent the afternoon at the cottage.

In the evening we headed to Robb’s Aunt and Uncle’s house for dinner.

Hudsonville fair

Thursday, August 23, 2012

we ventured out to the Hudsonville community fair last night!

Robb, Grayden and my dad enjoyed their time at the fair in the grandstands watching the tractor pulls, while I walked around in the barns with sadler and my mom.IMG_2384

they are SO loud!

IMG_2385

After about an hour, Grayden joined us in the farm animal barns.

Grayden has come a long way with his attitude towards animals, he loved every horse, petted every goat, checked out every bunny and had a great time!

IMG_2328

IMG_2329

Sadler, the boy who we thought had no fear, was scared petrified of the farm animals! The only thing he showed any interest in was the baby chicks, in a box, under Plexiglas!

 IMG_2383

so he hung out in the stroller or happily clinging in mommy or grandma’s arms a lot! so unlike him!

IMG_2382

IMG_2376

gray rode the truck ride like he did last year

IMG_2860

oh my heart!

and one of Gray at the fair when he was Sadler’s age (2010)

ohhhhh, sweet boy!
ok, sorry, i’m done now!

we had a great night and look forward to next year! maybe then sadler can join in on the tractor pulls too!

{Summer List} Update!

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Summer sure is flying bye, I’m so glad we’ve made the most of this summer weather while we could!

We’ve checked off a few more things!

pick berries: we took a wagon ride down the street to pick some blueberries at a small local farm. we didn’t pick much but the boys had fun finding and eating the berries!

IMG_1918

we went to timber town as a family a few weeks ago after we dropped of Grayden’s enrollment papers to his school

IMG_1932

IMG_1935

IMG_1940

that place is so big and the boys wander off so fast, i was glad to have robb along for an extra set of eyes!
IMG_1942

IMG_1945

we got a new bike seat for sadler to ride in, but of course he prefers the trailer, at least Gray like it!
we’re hoping to do more bike riding as a family!
IMG_2146

the boys don’t get to  play on the swing set and sand box quite as much as they’d like to because this happens:

IMG_2045

I’m hoping in the next few years the sand throwing and kicking will stop and we can enjoy it a little more often!

IMG_2041

IMG_2061

IMG_2060

they love playing restaurant by the counter, grayden is annoyed with me in this picture because I asked him for breadsticks and he said he only has pizza and broccoli at his restaurant! i bet business is booming for him!

I never intended to do ALL the items on the list but to use it more as a guide on things to do when we’re bored, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with all the fun we’ve had so far!
