I had a SH with my second baby. Scared me to death. I was never put on full bedrest but just told to take it easy (had a one year old at home....not easy to do). Mine started at week 7 and I bled til week 16. I also started with placenta previa which was adding to the bleeding. Everything corrected itself, thank God and now my baby is 8 months old and healthy!!! Hang in there--I know it's scary!!!

Hi, I had a SCH as well with my second baby. Bled often and on through week 22 or so. I was put on modified bed rest in the beginning (also had 21/2 and 1 year who was not walking) Not really happening. Finally doc got pretty serious about it and put me on bed rest after 18 weeks or so and it finally cleared up. My son is 4 now, perfectly happy, healthy and enjoying an ice cream bar on this hot summer day. Praying for you!

I had one at 11w and bled off and on until week 17. It eventually dissolved and we're at week 34 now.

I had one at exactly 13 week with my second son. I gushed blood for a couple days, then spotted for weeks. It was a big one on ultrasound, so they kept a close eye on it. I was on bed rest for a week or so. It was terrifying!! My son is now 18 months old and super healthy.

I had an SH that started at 6 weeks and I bled on and off until 14 weeks. VERY SCARY! Especially since we did IVF. I was never put on bedrest though...just told to take it easy (and I noticed I bled more when I was "active") and not overdo things. Lexi is now 4 years old...happy and healthy.

I had a sch but never had any active bleeding. I was just told to take it easy. My baby is now 10 years old. Good luck!

Had it with my third and scared me! I think the bleeding stopped around my 20 week ultrasound. Told to take it easy, hard to do with 2 other kids. Praying for a peaceful mind and healthy pregnancy.

I had an SCH with Placenta Previa. Presented with heavy bleeding, which was due to the rupture, and was how the Previa was discovered. I was on modified bedrest for about 5 weeks with a 2-yr-old at the time. So I rested as much as I could as a SAHM with a toddler! Everything had cleared up by 20 weeks, and now I have a very healthy 2-yr-old!

I had them with both pregnancies and with each one I bled more...scary. The first one they saw the bleed immediately and that helped in at least me understanding it. The second one they couldn't explain the bleeding at first and as I said, I bled more and longer. They for whatever reason were more cautious with my first time and did more frequent ultrasounds, bloodwork initially to confirm the viability (numbers going up, etc.) but with my second they were not as sympathetic and reassuring. Not sure if they assumed I had been through it before? It was scary both times though. By around 20 weeks with my second I stopped bleeding and that of course was the big ultrasound that also helped assure me baby and I were doing well. Best of luck. I know they say it is "common" but it is still scary! Bleeding and pregnancy are not good things in our minds!

I had it with my second son, however had the OB not told me about it I would never have known. I never had any bleeding or anything (totally strange).

I have another friend who had it with her third child (4th pregnancy) and she had major bleeding for the first half of her pregnancy.
