Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some comment love, it was fun chatting a little bit with you yesterday!
Today’s topic is to blog about my blog!
I started blogging over 4 years ago as a way to cope with the loss of Brenham. I quickly found lots of support and encouragement though other blogs and people who have been through similar losses. It became a way for me to share his story, I wanted people to know him, I wanted his short life to mean something in this world, because he means so much to me.
Over the years my blog has had lots of other purposes, it was a great way to keep people posted on my health and also a means to advocate for organ donation. I’ve had lots of readers commit to becoming an organ donor and that makes me so happy! I’ve loved being able to share my faith and testimony with people in a way that makes me WAY more comfortable than speaking in public. It’s been a journal of my boys’ adoption journeys and a place to record their milestones. It’s kinda you’re typical mommy-blog most times! Its really the only place I can permanently record my memories, I have a terrible memory and love to be able to read back about what we were doing at this time a few years ago and I know I will love that about my blog even more as time goes by! I’m hoping some day the boys will take interest in reading it. I want them to look back on this years from now and know how much I love them and wanted to record these memories for them.
There have been times where I’ve wanted to stop blogging (boy are there some rude comments that float by every once in awhile!) but I keep at it because ultimately I love it! I think a lot about how cool it would have been had my grandma (who is no longer living) kept a blog. I would love to be able to read her blog about what life was like raising kids in her era and what her day to day life would have been like. I would love to see her pictures of ‘what she wore Wednesday’ or my mom’s first day of school!
(So boys if you’re reading this some day, I hope you’re enjoying it and not laughing too hard, I promise our clothes and hair styles were stylish at the time, you just wait…it will come back! I love you so much and tried not to embarrass you too much!!)

Oh I just love your blog and reading about your beautiful boys. Keep it up and do not let the rude people get you down. I have never understood why people have to be rude I just don't get it. I for one enjoy and look everyday to see if you posted!!Thanks for sharing!!!
I love blogging for similar reasons - it's therapeutic and it's like a journal that I will get to keep for the rest of my and the baby's life. I am looking into actually turning a bunch of my posts into a book because I haven't actually had any baby pictures printed or put in an album!
I don't comment often but I read every post you write. I love reading about the boys and your sweet family. I have a 13 year old and 15 year old and WISH that I had thought to journal back then. I have a horrible memory too and it would be so nice to look back and see what we did!
Don't let the rude commenters get you down. Just think that they must have a pretty miserable life if they are saying such awful things to a person they don't even know.
I definitely blog for a lot of the same reasons you do. To record the moments of our life for my daughter to be able to read later. And because I love the community.
I love reading your blog. Congrats to you guys on two amazing adoption stories!
The clothes comment made me laugh. I was just talking with someone how the clothes in all the pics of me as a kid are tragix (child of the 80's syndrome) and that is SO isn't fair that my kids won't have embarassing clothing pictures. But you make a good point, who says what we wear now won't be uncool say in 20 years.
I have been reading your blog for a while, but I have never commented. You have such a beautiful family! One thing I am jealous of though...your hair is always done so cute!!!! :) I try hard to get ready everyday and look presentable...any quick tips though, being a hairstylist and all?
I think your blog is beautiful. I agree, don't let the rude people keep you from doing what you love!
Too funny that you mention fashion and hair style - I wonder about that too. Will my boys look back and wonder what I was thinking - like I do with some of the photos from my childhood. HAHA! The 70's and 80's were just bad. I'm sure that it'll be the same when they are older looking back, but style seems more timeless now to me. I hope that my kids look back at my blog and learn so much about how much we prayed for them and loved them... and maybe get some laughs at their crazy antics along the way too.
I can't believe that anyone would leave a negative post on your blog! (Well, I can, because some people can be cruel, but you know what I mean!) I love reading your blog, it's my favourite, so I'm so glad that you have no plans to stop!
In fact, maybe once this challenge is over, you can do a Q&A post, where us readers can ask you random questions :) I love when blogs do that!
I love your blog and check it every day! I would be bummed if you stopped blogging. Ignore the rude people and keep at it :)
I actually print my blog each year into a book for the same reasons you are discussing here! What a great keepsake and hopefully someday someone will want to read it. They came out great!
What an amazing story. I'm so sorry for all that you have been through but praise God for those two sweet boys! Hopping over from Jenna's blog!
Hi! Your boys are so sweet! and I love the names! I am popping over from Jenna's Journey and just wanted to say hi!

Katie, I stopped by from Jenna's blog and I have been sitting here and reading your old posts for an hour! What an amazing woman you are and what an incredible story you have!
I also can't believe you'd ever get a negative comment! :)
I have been reading your blog for a good long while now on and off- I am not 100% sure but I think I found your blog a looooong time ago via the Decorating and Renovating board on TheNest.com? Who knows! I have really enjoyed reading your blog and all of your boys' stories. We are currently in the waiting stages of adoption and after the whirlwind of paperwork, I've been spending the last couple months just going back to some blogs I have bookmarked and reading through other people's adoption journeys- it's very encouraging and it's awesome to see the Lord's hand in other's lives.
I absolutely loved reading about your loving family. Yall are so sweet. I am so glad to be following along with your precious blog! Stopping by from the challenge!
