brenham has a new buddy

Sunday, December 28, 2008

dylan james joined brenham in heaven today. i know they are singing and rejoicing there right now, but down here we are hurting and sad.
my heart breaks for my good friend nicole and her fiance chad. they too just had to say both hello and goodbye to their son in the same day. i know the raw emotions she will have in the next few days, weeks, months and even years to come. the hurt will never leave them. no matter how much your heart heals it will never completely go away and I hate that another person i love has to go through that. i'll never understand the why's but i do know that God is in control and He will be with them through this difficult time now more than ever before, and he will carry them through it.
Nicole, I wish you didn't have to go through this but know i am praying for you so much. I hope you find comfort in knowing your son is happy and healed now playing with his new buddy brenham. Nothing will ever make this heartache worthy enough. But you are such an inspiration my friend. We are all carrying you to HIM.

Sweet Katie,

Thank you so much for being there for Nicole and Chad today. My heart is so heavy for them as they said hello and goodbye so quickly. There is no sense to this but I do know that God is with them, as He has been with you. You know her heart right now and she is fortunate to have you as her friend. I am praying for all of you today.

Love and Hugs, Laurie in Ca.

I once told a friend of mine that had just lost his daughter, that I would tell my mom who is in heaven to take her under her wing and watch over her till he and his wife could be there with her. As I read your blog today, I know and realize there are lots of people in this world who have to say hello and goodbye in the same day to loved ones. I have and do pray daily, for all of you who have had to do so. I know life doesn't seem fair, but know God has a purpose for everything.
You know how Nicole and Chad feel, how nice that you can personally be there for them.
Will continue to pray for all of you.
Blessings.

How lucky they are to have you. I'm so sad for them. But so thankful for the few moments they had with their precious boy. Thanks for all of the updates today. And most of all, for sharing the news with all of us that don't really know either of you personally, but have come to care for you just as if we did.

I just came here from Dylan's site and I read your story. Just wanted to say I am so sorry for the loss of your precious baby...and also wanted to thank you for your willing heart to share your story with others and to be there for your friends Nichole and Chad. My own family has walked this journey of loss, hope, and healing twice...and both times we were carried through our sorrow by God's daily sufficient grace. I would love to share our story with you. You can read our story at http://sufficientgrace-kelly.blogspot.com or learn more about our ministry for bereaved families: www.sufficientgrace.net. Please email me if there is anything we can do for you or your friend.

Your site is beautiful...thank you again for sharing your heart. Praying continued prayers of comfort for your family and for Dylan's...

Katie, I am Nicole's aunt, in the state of Washington. I am so sorry for your loss of Brenham, but yet I am so thankful that Nicole has someone who truly knows what she is going through. God is able to use you and your experience to help others. Thank you for being a shoulder for Nicole to lean on. I am sure your husband will be of some help to Chad as well.

Katie,

I stumbled upon your blog last night, and I'm not sure that there are words to say what I am feeling for the heartache that you've had to go through, but I just wanted to let you know that your story has deeply affected me, and has made me look at my own children in such a different way. I am so glad to hear that you and your husband are planning to adopt...I myself was adopted, and my life has been so deeply blessed because of it. My story is on my blog if you have time to read it one day. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
