I found your blog by chance tonight. In March six years ago I delivered a stillborn baby girl at 5 months. I thought I would never get over it. We were told I only had a 50% chance of carrying a pregnancy to term. My doctor was horrified when I got pregnant again before I even reached my original due date. We simply said "This child wants to be here." I was stunned to find I was carrying a boy, not a girl.We had tests done that showed that he did not have the same genetic problems my Michelle did, but I kept telling people I wasn't holding my breath until I could hold him in my arms. Sure enough, right at the end of the pregnancy we almost lost him when my placenta shut down too early. Fortunately I had fantastic doctors who had been keeping a close eye on me. Every child is a small miracle.

You are still young - I was already in my 40s when this happened to me. I was luckier than you in that I did already have one child. I cannot imagine the devastation of losing your first baby, and then being told you have to wait so long before you can try again. I know that wait seems interminable right now, but use it to your advantage. Start saving for a college fund. Enjoy the time you have together as a couple. One day, somehow, you will be a mommy again.
