Grayden Tab

Thursday, January 4, 2001

Grayden was born in May of 2009 and brought into our family by the wonderful miracle of adoption. He is the light of our lives, he brings so much love and joy to our family. He is the happiest little guy and loves all things BOY; trucks, tractors and animals!  Grayden is so sweet and loving; whenever either of us ask him for a hug or kiss he usually happily obliges and has to make sure the other parent and everyone else in the room gets one too, sometimes even the dog! We love to watch him explore and learn. He can’t wait to be a big brother!

Adoption Tab

Wednesday, January 3, 2001

Adoption is something that God laid on our hearts shortly after our firstborn son, Brenham, died in February 2008. He was born 4 months prematurely and died shortly after birth. Brenham’s life and death opened our eyes and hearts to so many things, including the fact that we should live life to the fullest, not taking anything for granted. One of the ways we wanted to do this was to pour our lives and love into the children we were blessed to adopt.
Adoption changed our lives when we welcomed our son Grayden into our home in May of 2009. His presence in our home has brought so much joy and love into our hearts!
In April 2011 our prayers were answered once again when we were blessed by the adoption of another son, Sadler. He has such a passion for life, our family just wouldn't be the same without him!

Kidney Transplant Tab

Tuesday, January 2, 2001

Just a few short weeks after the loss of our son I learned that my kidney’s had suddenly stopped working. After 9 months on dialysis I received a kidney transplant from my sister.

The transplant has returned me to complete health but I will never be the same; God taught me so much during those trying months. I’ll probably always question why God allowed those difficult things to happen but I’ll never question his faithfulness to me! I wouldn’t be the woman I am today if I hadn’t been through those trails to make me stronger.

“And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over." Mark 5:34

To read more about my kidney struggles start in March of 2009 and my transplant story in October 2009

Brenham’s Story Tab

Monday, January 1, 2001

Brenham is our first born son, he was born on February 29, 2008 at just 21.5 weeks gestation. He passed away shortly after birth and went straight to the arms of Jesus. He is the reason I started this blog, as a place to journal my thoughts and feelings as I grieved such a heartbreaking loss. His short but meaningful life taught us so much and we are forever grateful to have him as our son.

We miss him so much.

To read more about Brenham start at the beginning of this blog.
