Grandpa L and Gray at VIP day at school!

A couple weekends ago we tackled a long overdue project to clean up the play structure. Robb power washed and stained the wood, it looks so fresh again!

And while the guys worked.... the girls played! :)
I had a fun girls day being pampered with blowouts, shopping and dinner with 7 of my dear friends!

all ready to shop!

It was such a treat to actually be able to try clothes on! I usually take the kids along shopping with me and just buy without trying on, and return it later if I don't like it, plus I had 7 friends along to give me input, so fun!

I was hoping these new kicks would distract me from a brutal workout, but no such luck!
If you're looking for some free workouts I can't recommend fitnessblender.com enough, I love it! They're not all brutal, you can find over 500 free full length workouts there, there's something for everyone.
(and no, they aren't sponsoring this post, nor do they know I exist, I just really like it!

cuties at lunch on Sadler's birthday!

Jovie helping Grandma L and the other ladies crochet mats for Mozambique at church while I helped in Sadler's class!

being a diva in the dollar store!

Robb and I wrapped up the Prisonbreak series on Netflix last week, we loved it!

yup, another shoe pic :)
a pop of color on my feet always brightens my day!

Robb and I went out for lunch and had a couples massage for our April date last Saturday.

Helping Grandpa R on the tractor while we were on our date.

It was a little too noisy for Jovie, watching daddy cut up wood for a fire.

first bon-fire of the year!

beauty girl playing at the park on a beautiful day!

only the most unusual way to walk to the bus stop for me and my crew :)

selfie with Sadler!

We moved her to a toddler bed, still some kinks to work out (like not getting out and coming in our bed 10 times a night) but she goes to sleep way better than she did in her crib!

My sister went for a new look, her "sangria" hair turned out so cute!

I walked into the salon one day to see JoJo trying to put pony tails in her dolls hair. Precious love!

Math night at school!

Gray had a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, after dropping Sadler off we walked to the donut shop and library. He told me all about Minecraft, and how he sits by a boy on the bus who's always sad because nobody wants to sit by him. My heart melted right there on the sidewalk. So proud.

We played by the Roelofs' yesterday morning, this was Sadler's idea of picking up...just stacking it all in a pile ON the toy boxes! Oh Sadler!

When we got home it was time to clean up OUR toy room, it's always a disaster, and with the boys' birthday party tomorrow night I thought it would be a good time to get it straightened out before adding in more toys.

We had our last M.Life meeting for the year this morning, I'm gonna miss these girls!

April 27th

Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Three years ago today, bright and early on a Saturday morning, I took a pregnancy test. In the exact same moment that the second pink line that we so desperately prayed for appeared, representing new life that would soon become our sweet Jovie Breann, my mom called me with the news that my Aunt Laurie had lost her short battle with cancer. Joy and mourning all twisted up in two life changing events for our family.
I don't think that was coincidence. I know it was God's plan for our sweet miracle girl to be our constant reminder of God's faithfulness in the hard times, when it feels like God isn't there He is, he's working his plan for our good and for his glory.

"The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” (Job 1:21)

Sadler Graham, you are 5 years old!

Saturday, April 23, 2016

Wow, buddy! A whole hand!

(probably should have washed off your tattoo before taking your pics! #momfail)

Here's what you're up to at 5 years old:

You love being outside (except when you're worried about ticks!), playing Angry Birds, watching "Transformers Rescue Bots"

You are always hungry, always moving, and always adorable.
You love adventure and you're willing to try new things.

You're a peacemaker.

You have the best laugh and the best facial expressions.

You weigh 38.5 lbs and are 40.5" tall

You've been oh so excited about turning 5, and we are just as excited to see what the next year has in store for you.

Love you so much!

Sadler's 5th birthday!

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

In typical Lubbers' fashion we celebrated Sadler's birthday more than just one day!
He started his birthday festivities on Monday when he was star helper at school!

He was so excited to finally have a turn to pass out birthday treats! He gave out a pack of gum, fruit snacks and Cars temporary tattoos, all of which are things we don't have very often, so it was a treat for him too!

After dinner we celebrated by walking to the ice cream shop with Grandma and Grandpa R. It was such a perfect night for it!

Tuesday we took Sadler out for his special birthday breakfast, just the three of us.

Then we made in impromptu trip to Crazy Bounce so he could bounce with his cousins! Lucky boy!

After an hour of bouncing we met up for lunch at McD's

In the afternoon he had his Kindergarten screening, what perfect timing for our new 5 year old!

We made breakfast for dinner, pancakes, (yup, twice in one day! You only turn 5 once!), bacon, sausage and egg sandwiches. We put candles on a Nutella sandwich for him to blow out ;)

And to wrap up his special day he and Jovie spent some time at Grandpa and Grandma R's house while we had "math night" at Grayden's school!

He had such a fun day, we're looking forward to celebrating him (and Grayden) again at his birthday party next weekend!

Happy 5th Birthday Sadler!

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

Happy 5th birthday to my middle miracle! Today we celebrate you, and the blessing you are in our lives. You bring our family so much laughter, joy and adventure. We also celebrate your birth mother today (and everyday) and the courageous choice she made to give you life. We recognize that this day may be difficult for her and we'll think of and pray for her often today especially.
Love you to pieces Sadler!

Saturday morning fun checking out equipment at K&R with grandpa

beautiful Saturday afternoon to play on the swing set, daddy pushes the highest!

our favorite nephew turned 1!

Cute cousins at Jensen's birthday party

when we got back from vacation Jovie thought she needed to sleep in mommy and daddy's big bed, like the bed she had at the condo :)

washing the outside of the windows, couldn't have done it without my strong helper!

Silly girl found some friends in the gift shop while mommy and grandma were chatting over coffee!

modeling her "new" pjs from Peyton!

I had such a fun day Wednesday on Grayden's field trip to the Butterfly Gardens

handsome boy with the butterflies

they all tried so hard to get a butterfly to land on them!

She can't get enough of the big girl swing, she even asks for under-dogs!

Then there's this cutie who is so paranoid about getting ticks in his hair! So funny

I asked Sadler to take a picture of me and my girl in our distressed denim jeans this morning, I wasn't quite ready for it, but he had business to get back to, so we'll just say he wanted to go with the candid approach :) At least JoJo looks cute!
