Have you heard??

I am getting my transplant in 7 days!!!

I am so excited!

A few prayer requests:

Obviously that the surgery goes well and the kidney takes well right away
For a quick and painless (i know i am dreaming) recovery
For Mindy's surgery to go well and for a quick and painless recovery for her too
Mindy has come down with a little cold, please pray that she feels better SOON!
That I dont come down with anything.
For our families
For our nerves
For safe travel
For everything to come together quickly in terms of travel and lodging accommodations.
That i will get everything done that needs to be before we leave, my list is long and keeps growing!
And most importantly prayers of praise and thanksgiving to our wonderful Maker for this amazing blessing of a new life for me!

~Thank you all SO MUCH for all of your prayers and support during this crazy journey. I wouldnt be where i am at today if it wasnt for all of you, i feel very blessed!

Lots of prayers headed your way!

And here's some encouragement for you -- when I donated a kidney to my dad, he walked into my room a few hours later all by himself. What a surprise to see that he was walking around already! And he never took pain medicine one time during his entire recovery!

Best wishes!

Katie!

Can you hardly believe it?! Wow! I heard last night at church and my jaw dropped, in excitement and awe at how fast things can move after they've seemed to be going so slow. How wonderful! We'll be praying hard for all of you.

Praising God for His perfect timing! I will continue to pray for you and Mindy and for the surgeons as well as your families. I wept with joy when Mindy left my house Wednesday after she told me the news! Our God is so good. What a wonderful testimony you will have to share! How fortunate we are to be Christians that we can share this joy with others!

Your blog has been an inspiration to me. I have struggles of a different sort: a disabled husband who is slowly growing worse and a disabled mother who recently suffered another set back.
thanks for your transparency and your faith. I pray your surgery goes even better than imagined and that God gets much praise and glory for this marvelous work. Keep us posted!

After all you have been through I can only hope that this will be easy for you both. God won't give us more than we can handle. It is obvious that he has a special plan for you!!
