Wednesday was our last full day in Gulf Shores, we took a short drive to check out the fishing pier
By the time we got back the sky had turned overcast, and it had gotten really windy, so we swam for a little while and then decided it would be a good day to go mini golfing.
After golfing we grabbed some groceries for the ride home and started to do a little packing.
We headed to the Hangout for dinner. They had a bubble machine that the boys just couldn't get enough of, they were soaked in no time.
After we ate we went back outside where the kids played on a huge sand pile with a tunnel running through it, and the boys jumped on a bungee trampoline.
Thursday morning we took one last walk on the beach, loaded up and headed to Mobile to spend the day with my friend Anne, who moved down there in December.
It was so great to catch up with her and get a glimpse of her new life in Mobile.
(bummer Adler didn't make it in this kid group photo, but he was napping, such a sleepy little boy!)
We loaded back in the van at 4:00 and Robb drove us straight home (with a stop for dinner at CFA, a couple fuel fill-ups and potty stops) to snowy Michigan at 7:00 am.
We had a great time in Gulf Shores. I'd be lying if I said the kids behaved perfectly, we were definitely ready to be home, and back on normal routines, but we are so thankful for an amazing vacation and safe travels.

I just finished reading all about your vacation. Sounds like it was a great trip with some great pictures! My husband and I have two boys (5 and 3) and we've just gotten better about lower our expectations while out on vacation, etc. Kids get cranky, adults get cranky, kids get tired, adults get tired, etc. :) You just do the best you can, have fun and make memories!
