Binder Park {Zoo}

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Last Wednesday we made a trip to Battle Creek to visit Binder Park Zoo! It was such a blast, the boys did great and Grayden loved it!

On the way home I asked Grayden what his favorite part of the zoo was and he said “the animals!” haha! My favorite part was feeding the giraffes! They were so cool!

Funny story: On the way down there I realized my camera could be running low on batteries, it never gives me much warning so I always like to take an extra set along with me on important things, like trips to the zoo, but I didn’t have any! Robb was so kind to make a stop at Wal-Mart on the way so I could pick some up. Sadly they didn’t have the batteries I like ( lithium, they last so much longer) so I settled for the normal kind and hurried back to the car.

A half hour later I picked up my camera to delete some pictures to make room on the memory card only to find out I didn’t have the card in my camera!! I had left it in my computer at the cottage an hour away! I was so bummed but at this point there was nothing I could do, we were almost to the zoo and it was my own fault. I was disappointed but determined to have a great time and capture the memories in my head!

Robb so sweetly asked the ticket lady at the zoo where he could get a SD card and she directed him to another Wal-Mart just a few minutes away. Me and the boys watched the kangaroos and I fed Sadler while we waited for him to get back!

SO thankful to have these pictures!

vacation week at Hutchins lake

Monday, August 22, 2011

Robb had a week of vacation time he had to use up in the next month so we planned a quick trip to my parents cottage on Hutchins lake!

Turns out it wasn’t much of a “vacation” per-se; we were really busy doing stuff for the house and just having 2 kids to entertain alone makes for a lot of work! But we also had lots of fun! We went to the zoo one day (more on that in another post) and spent lots of time outside, did some reading, took some boat rides and even watched a few movies!
Here are some pictures from our week!

Thoughts about Heaven from a 2 year old

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Today as Grayden and I were talking over our chicken nugget lunch he started asking me where daddy was, where makenna was, where sadler was...and on and on naming every member of our family.
When he was done naming everyone and I finished answering I asked him where his brother brenham was. He got a sad look on his face and said "on the lamb". I thought for a second and guessed that maybe he got that idea from the cemetery where there is a lamb figurine by his headstone. I smiled and pictured Brenham riding on a lamb in Heaven. (who knows! that does sound like a fun thing for a 3 year old to do in Heaven!)
I told him "he's in Heaven isn't he!" He nodded his head and said "with 'fowlers' (flowers) too" I told him "yes I bet there are lots of flowers in Heaven"
Then this next part brought tears to my eyes. He said "i'm sad". I asked him if he was sad because he missed Brenham and he said "Yes! And Mommy sad too, and Daddy sad and Grandpa sad too" I said yes, we're all sad sometimes and miss Brenham but he's not sad, he's happy with Jesus. And someday we'll all see him again!
Then with a pouty look on his face he said "Jesus sad when Grayden naughty!"
Love that kid! I was so shocked to hear him say those things. It reminds me just how much he listens to our words when we talk about him and watches our actions and expressions. He picks up on everything!
I wanted to blog about it so I can always remember our little conversations about Heaven and his big brother!
We sure do miss him lots!
Hope you're riding 'on the lamb' with all the flowers today Brenham! We love you!

Watch them GROW!

Thursday, August 4, 2011

My friend Val gave me this great idea early on in our building process, she suggested we take a picture every couple weeks of our family in the same spot. I was all about it, such a great idea!

I love to watch the changes in both the house and our kids!

Watch them grow:

bodycology rich&creamy Body Wash and Body Lotion {review and giveaway}

Monday, August 1, 2011

Bodycology_BottlesCentered-

I don’t know about you but I am addicted to all things beauty products, including body washes and lotions. My bathroom closet is full of them, I just can’t help myself I want to try them all out! I recently was given the bodycology rich&creamy Body Wash and Body Lotion to try out and I’m excited to tell you all about it!
This stuff is the best! I tried the Body Lotion out right away. I rubbed it on my hands and feet before going to bed and loved the way it quickly absorbed into my skin. It left my hands and feet feeling SO soft within seconds of applying it, that’s saying a lot for my rough summer feet! And Robb commented on the smell over and over again; it’s so light, fresh and clean smelling! LOVE it!
I tried the Body Wash out during my shower the following day and was super impressed with that as well! I love my body wash to give me some good lather and the bodycology Body Wash did just that! And the best part was the fresh clean scent lasted throughout the day without being overpowering.
So, that was my first impression of the bodycology rich&creamy Body Wash and Body Lotion which is super important but more important is what I thought of them after using them regularly like I’ve been doing since I got the products. After using the Body Wash and Body Lotion for a few days now I love them even more! I’m convinced my skin is more moisturized and softer than ever!
Both the Body Wash and the Body Lotion come in huge bottles so I’m excited to be able to use it for a long time, plus its super affordable so I’ll definitely be buying some more!
