We had a great day celebrating Grayden’s birthday yesterday, his party isn’t until tomorrow but we wanted to make his actual birthday special too!
We started out by going out for breakfast with Dad just like we did last year.



Then me and the boys ran a couple of errands in town to get ready for the big party tomorrow.
At night we headed downtown Holland for the Tulip Time Festival, we love all the junk food so we splurged and went all out! Grayden’s fave was the elephant ears!

My sweet big boy, you are 2 years old today, makes me just want to cry to think of how fast you’ve grown.  I’ve been thinking so much today about the day you were born and  2 days after that when we met you for the first time…seems like just yesterday and forever ago at the same time. Those are memories I never want to forget.



I remember feeling so in love with you then but we’ve fallen a little more in love with you with each passing day. You are our unspeakable joy! I wish there were more words to tell you just how much we adore you!!

you talk non stop and have a huge vocabulary! You’re also big into asking lots of questions lately..fun stuff!

you are super duper smart (know the abcs, counts to 20, sing the words to every song on the radio, spell your name, know opposites)

you’re a great sleeper…a 2-3 hour nap and 10-11 hours at night

you’re a great big brother, so gentle and loving!

Sharing is a tricky skill for you!
You want nothing to do with the big boy potty, but i know you could do it if YOU wanted to!
You weigh 26lbs (25th%ile) and are 36 inches (25th-50th %ile).
You love music and have great dance moves
You love to read books
Sid the Science Kid, Elmo, Word World and Super Why are some fave TV shows
You’re obsessed with all animals, tractors, “big” trucks and all kids older than you!

You are so loving, you’re sweetness makes me melt Grayden!
You still think you’re mom and dad are the coolest! I love that…wonder how long that will last?!

Grayden was helping me go through some of his old baby things for Sadler to use and he found his hospital hat and put it on himself! funny that it fits him 2 years later!

I had the best mother’s day!!

I was thinking of how this day has changed for me in the past few years..in 2006 I had my first mothers day, I got a card from the dog! Same goes for 2007. 2008 was my first official Mothers Day, I was a mom only I didn’t have a little boy here with me to love on, none the less my husband and many others celebrated and gifted me. In 2009 I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Grayden, he was born 2 days later! Mother’s day 2010 was my year, it was my turn to get to celebrate along with all the other mothers! And yesterday, Mothers Day 2011, I had the best day ever, with my 2 sons sitting next to me in church and one in Heaven. I was spoiled all weekend long and reminded of how lucky I am to be a mom to my 3 boys! Thank you God for the gift of motherhood.

This Easter season we felt extra blessed to serve a Risen Savior who has done such great things for us! Not only did He save us from our sins so we can live eternally when we die but we’ve also been given a pretty amazing life here on Earth as well!

Easter Morning church service is always one of my favorites and this year was extra special with our new little babe in tow for his first church service!

We had a great but busy day!

The boys got Easter baskets in the morning before church.

After church we headed to family for lunch and an egg hunt.

Later that day after everyone had a nice nap we headed to my parents house for an egg hunt, Easter baskets and dinner!
